Church Notice: Oare & Huish church electoral roll
Application forms now available; closing date 29th April 2025
Notice is given that under the Church Representation Rules a new Church Electoral Roll has to be prepared every six years. This year, every person who wishes to have his or her name entered on the new Roll, whether they are on the present Roll or not, is requested to apply for enrolment not later than 29th April 2025.
What being on the Church Electoral Roll means
A resident of the parish who is a member of the Church of England needs be on the Electoral Roll if they wish to vote at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) for the election of Churchwardens, Deanery Synod representatives and Parochial Church Council (PCC) officers of their parish church.
Likewise, a person who is a non-resident of the parish who is a member of the Church of England and has attended the church on a regular basis within the last six months, must also be on the Roll in order to be able to vote for the election of the officers as described above.
Also, a non-resident of the parish needs to be on the Electoral Roll if they wish to be buried in the churchyard of the church which they regularly attend.
The above also applies to both resident and non-residents of the parish who are non-members of the Church of England, but whose churches are in communion with the Church of England (eg Roman Catholics, Methodists, Baptists etc).
How to apply to be on the Roll

Application forms are also be available from both St Nicholas, Huish and Holy Trinity, Oare, and can be found on the font in either church.
Application forms must be returned to Diane or Richard by 29th April 2025.
